Graduate Student Senator

Pursuing my passion of exploring my limits and venturing into the new, I decided to run for the Graduate Student Senator, to represent my department in the senate.  having secured my candidature with overwhelming support of my department and friends, a journey started where every week we would pass bills for student activities and discuss student issues, which made me realize how important it is to understand and plan for such a big community. Now having explored and understood, every week I eagerly look forward meeting with other fellow senators and decide and make resolutions for the betterment of the graduate students. The senate passes bills worth several million each year solely dedicated to student welfare.  Attending the Senate meeting made me realize how constructive debates can create and empower decision making and welfare programs.

ASC REGION 2 RISK AND FINANCIAL ANALYSIS

In September 2018, ASC hosted region Competition for graduate students at Peachtree City, Georgia. It was a great moment when I was asked to lead a team in a competition in which Georgia Institute of technology has not participated in the last 10 years. The competition was centered on the topic of Risk and Financial analysis. We were given the task of preparing risk and financial strategy for a 10 story building near an old coal mine. We were given a complete set of construction drawings to work with.  The competition was a stepping stone for me in terms of knowledge, interaction, exposure that we received. it was indeed a great experience for me to lead a team for such competition. 

RACE TO ZERO, UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY

We started working on this competition from October 2018. As part of the competition we are trying to design Net Zero energy houses. Apart from the competition we have teamed up with Grove Park and we have selected a potential site for our design. Through this competition we want to really change the perception of the people. We are trying to team up with Habitat for Humanity for creating a prototype for such design ad then provide the design to neighborhood communities to develop a Net zero energy house.

Role - Chief Scheduler and Cost estimator & Systems design Engineer.
